I heard there was help from mortgage companies. It’s all well and good being told to self isolate but unless I physically can’t walk I’ll have to go to work as rent needs paid.

Universal credit if you have savings under the limit. Depending on income you may be entitled to some anyway to top up your wages.n1guy said:I heard there was help from mortgage companies. So basically nothing new? We already get a bit of housing benefit, when I say a bit I am talking £20 per week. So there'll be no self-isolating for me it seems. I am really talking about a short term thing, say you had to self isolate for a week or two meaning you couldn't afford a month's rent._shel said:

I believe that the Labour Party are urging the government to introduce a ban on evictions for tenants whose income is hit by the coronavirus.

The Government have indicated they intend to take more 'financial measures' - which will likely include domestic issues such as this, given Johnson's repeated statement that 'no one should be penalised for doing the right thing'.worldtraveller said:I believe that the Labour Party are urging the government to introduce a ban on evictions for tenants whose income is hit by the coronavirus.
I expect more detail will be forthcoming either today or with the Emergency Bill on Thursday. That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
